MUST HAVE! AMAZING BOOK CAPTIVATED FROM COVER TO COVER! AMAZING

I loved this book and all it stands for! Amazing use of dialogue and a fantastic plot line! I read it and I couldn't put it down! Especially towards the end where a lot of very interesting things start happening! Things start getting chaotic especially towards the end when Brooke brings hell to everyone! I say that this book is perfect for young readers transition to the age of teenager! A lot of drama, and suspense! Not to mention the charming guys who are in that high school! Overall, this book involves magic, secrecy, conflicts, and thrills that once you get to the end, you want to know more! I'm dying to know the rest of the stories and see what happens to Tyler, Henry, Stefan, Amber, Brooke, and Kimberly!

When I started reading this book I didn't know what to expect. It's actually a book that's a comic book. I found it quite cute how the author put herself and some of her friends in the book as characters. This is a book that would be interesting for pre-teen teenagers to read and talk about together by starting a pre-teen book club. The graphics were amazing.

I would definitely recommend this book to any parents with young children looking for a fun and different bed-time story experience.

The start of an excellent European Graphic Novel series

OK, before you get excited by my review of Five Stars be aware that is for art and story alone. Judging the format and the size of the book I would give it two stars. And if I would rate the editing done it gets one star. Read on for a further explanation.

LEO , the artist of this project is Brazilian , now age 70 is most famous for his later solo work The Aldebaran series of of Science Fiction graphic novels done for the Franco Belgian market. LEO is a pseudonym for Luis Eduardo de Oliveira.

This series consists of Five volumes and was done with writer Rodolphe, this one originally appeared in 2001. Cinebook has been translating and reprinting these books for The British and American marketplace. I applaud their their decision , but lament the results.

The original books are pricey but beautiful. They are oversized Hardcovers. Cinebook reduces the art down to comic book size and prints in as a cheap trade paperback. Just looking through the book you will realize that this book contains many more panels per page then your average comic , that is because it is meant to be read in the larger size.

The reproduction and the coloring look very good despite the reduction. The biggest offense they have committed is obscuring the rather harmless nudity on pages 7 and 20. In the first case they have drawn what looks like a swimsuit on a woman bent on seduction. The second is even worse with black clunky shadows being added to our heroine's figure as she is seen changing for bed. Their belief is that the nudity would prevent children from buying it. Really in today's age how many children are likely to buy this to begin with. If kids are reading comics , I don't see this being a likely selection when straight up Porn is available every where now for any youths looking for it. This Puritan Censorship of art is never OK with me. It already says for ages 15 and older on the back cover, change that if you like.

Sorry for the rant, but I think this is a case of a publisher just not understanding their market.

The story takes place in 1947 Africa an expedition party has disappeared after sighting what looks like a prehistoric animal. Miss Austin arrives in Kenya from England to take over a teaching position. She meets two fellow teachers from France and Germany who are rivals for her affection. Together they discover more mysteries including a big crater and a flying saucer picture.

This is start of a great series and I plan to be on board for it all , and maybe someday we will get the unedited version in the format it deserves.

I came to know about leo for mthe aldebaraan series.. The first few books in that episode were really great, but by the time antares came along, I started losing interest..

And then I saw this series. I had to give it a try. Bought the first one. Liked it. Placed everything else available in the series on pre-order.

Great variant cover, same cheesy story

To be clear - I'm giving the COVER 5 stars. Love Takeda and love the set up. The story? Eh. This series (so far) is full on camp. '90s camp in all its cheesy glory. I love the awkwardness, the forced laughs, the stupid little details that are so obviously wrong. But if you don't make an event over the sharknado marathon, this might not be the comic for you. Supposedly, the series takes a more "respectable" turn issue #8 (not available in paperback yet). If you yearn for '90s without balls-to-the-wall camp, you might want to save your money for a couple months and check back.

Great book, printing is very dark though

This book is really cool, the art is amazing. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the color quality of the interior pages. It's really dark, and makes it difficult to make things out. I wonder if this only happened on the english translation or if the original printing was like this as well.

Great artwork. Story, meh...

The amazing artwork in this book is what brought my attention to it. Undoubtedly, the story is kind of cliché, it reminds me of Astro Boy the movie. I was a bit disappointed due to the fact that they have such great artwork but mess it up with, should i say a boring plot.. I'm gonna buy the second volume nevertheless.
