I'm Not Crazy!

What can I say? I was introduced to this book by the author while at a Comic Book convention, to get us to look at it he was offering free crappy drawings. And holy hell they were crappy! (his drawings not the book or the art in the book) But the book caught the eye of my older kids and so we bought it! and everyone read it. It tells a dark story about a deranged lunatic.
The images and Story is better left for the older kids I'd say 16+
Also if you ever get to meet the Author ask him about his crappy drawings!
Oh and I Also Cos Play as Ichabod!

This is dark and oddly humorous.

This is dark and oddly humorous. Violence I can easily handle in the right context, but gore is difficult for me. In this case, this gore fit perfectly with the story and didn’t overshadow the action and psychological conflict fueling the narrative.
Ichabod is an anti-hero; at least he might be. He’s the kind of crazy you can live with as long as he’s on your side. The point of all this- is he really a monster hunter or a serial killer? I’d like to think maybe he’s both. The voice in his head sometimes sends him after innocents, but then he also takes out a few bad guys too. My biggest concern isn’t whether the monsters are real; it’s how real are they? Maybe they are bad people who look like monsters to Ichabod and that’s why he’s able to kill them. Who really knows?
The development of the plot is excellent. The author doesn’t just reveal the mystery in words or images, but instead slowly builds the conflict in between battles for survival. It’s just the type of story that meshes well with illustration as an amplifying factor. There are times when Ichabod comes off a bit cartoonish, but the sharp line and deep shadows of the artist’s pen bring a sense of realism to a somewhat surreal character… I don’t know why, but for some reason, I like Ichabod’s toes. They make me laugh. :D The stunning, and yet, darkly chaotic illustrations are the perfect accompaniment to the written dialog between Ichabod and the Voice.
While there are zombies mentioned in this story, this is more a character study. I’d recommend this to fans of The Walking Dead and mature comic book readers who don’t mind a bit of gore and flat out weird stuff.
I purchased this book as part of a crowdfunding campaign and am very pleased with the outcome.
