A Collection of Raw and Intimate Stories to Help You in your Grief

The Widow or Widower Next Door is a gentle, yet stark collection of stories shared by twenty-five men and women who have lost a spouse to death. The collection is equally raw and intimate and is compiled in such a way as to offer the newly bereaved opportunity to experience that she is not alone in small, digestible bites while at the same time affording those who have sat with grief a while to absorb growth and healing.
I had the privilege of meeting Mary Lee in April 2014. I can honestly say that this work is as genuine and full of compassion as the woman herself.
Though I have not experienced the death of a spouse, I have gone on to live my best life following the death of my eldest child. If you arrive to this book while grieving, I can attest to what Mary Lee writes in one of her stories, "...every little thing IS gonna be all right." This little book is filled with big stuff, stuff to help you on your own journey through loss and grief...

THE BOOK THAT SAVED MY LIFE!!!

If you,or anyone that you know has lost their Heart! PLEASE buy this book for them! Mary Lee Robinson and all of the wonderful people who shared their pain deserve awards for teaching others how to deal with the earth shattering pain that is the loss of your loved one! No one teaches you in your life how to prepare for the eventuality we will all endure in our lifetime. This book should be a MUST READ for everyone! From Middle school age, every year! People are terrified to talk about death, then when it is thrust upon them.........they disintegrate into microscopic pieces. Sometimes, we are able, slowly, oh so very slowly, to attempt to put those pieces back together again. We are never the same! This amazing book, by Mary Lee Robinson, helps to understand that you really aren't alone!

I am happily married to my best friend of 30 + years

First of all, I am not a widow. I am happily married to my best friend of 30 + years. When I first heard of this book, I was visiting my friend, Ruth, and she was working with Mary Lee on this book. She had a rough draft of the book and I would browse through it while I was there. I purchased the Kindle version when I returned home and read it in its entirety. I began to understand what widows/widowers go through after such a loss. I can't imagine that yet. It helped me understand that you really don't have to say much, just be there for the person and listen. An acquaintance of mine has just lost her husband.....He was only 62 years old....and I am purchasing a book to give to her.
